Weather related car accident kills one in Pennsylvania

One of the perils of driving is that sooner or later the likelihood that you will be involved in a car accident is pretty high. It may be taboo to discuss but it truly is the reality of the situation and most drivers accept that as such. With that being said, people are generally not deterred from driving and will continue to do so. There are a number of factors that can lead to a car crash. Weather related car accidents tend to happen during inclement weather like snow and heavy rains.

In West Middlesex, Pennsylvania, there was a fatal car accident involving two female drivers. This particular part of Pennsylvania had its first snow, which authorities believed contributed to the accident. A woman was driving in the snow when she lost control of her pick-up truck and hit another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. The woman in the pick-up truck was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead on scene. The other driver was taken to the hospital for her injuries. The accident investigation ultimately revealed that the weather was the cause.

The courts are involved in auto accidents only when the party not at fault wants the courts to be involved. This means that if the party to the accident wants to bring a cause of action in court, then the court will look at the facts and circumstances of the case along with the police report to determine if the claim has merit. When a meritorious claim is presented in a legal forum, the claim is usually for damages, punitive and/or compensatory. In instances of death as the result of a car crash, a wrongful death claim is viable.

Car accidents are a part of driving. Nonetheless, the reasons behind an auto accident can vary.
